Story and photo by Bruce ThorsonJuly 4, 2009, Venango, Neb: Ascencion Arias (left), 71, his son John Arias, 44, and his daughter Mary Barnum, 45, spent the Fourth of July fixing up a family member’s house in Venango. The home had been used as a rental for the last three years. The tenant had cats and mice in the house and it was is such bad shape because of the renter's neglect it had to be completely gutted inside.
