This photograph of our trailer, with students inside working, I made Saturday evening. It is raining now, Tuesday, June 9, 2009, and has been raining every night since June 5. Our plans today are to go to a community north of here, Barada, about 15 miles. We've made a few contacts there and will see what we get--Bruce Thorson

Patrick Breen (left), Kyle Bruggeman, Clay Lomneth and myself, Bruce Thorson, spent Sunday evening, June 7, 2009 inside the travel trailer as severe lightning, thunder and a pouring rainstorm pass through the Falls City area. A city police officer arrived, for the second time today, to warn us of a tornado watch, this time until 5 a.m. Monday. For the last three nights lightning, thunder and heavy rains have dominated much of the evening and early morning. The trailer has been dry. And that is a beautiful thing. Since leaving Lincoln on Wednesday, June 3, heading to Omaha for two days, traveling south on Hwy 75 down through Plattsmouth, Nebraska City, Auburn and Falls City, with a few other stops in-between, we've been treated with Nebraskan hospitality--warm, friendly and kind.--Bruce Thorson
